Provisions Outreach Ministry - 2/16 Food & Diaper Distribution - Volunteer Registration

The Provisions Ministry at Rock Church East County partners with the San Diego Food Bank to provide food and diapers to those in need as well as hope, prayer and love. Join us on Tuesday, February 16th, for the next distribution!

Volunteers are needed for various positions and times. If you have shopping bags at home you would like to donate, please bring them to the event.  See below for details and sign up.

Provisions is following all protocols that include masks, gloves, and social distancing with our drive-thru style distribution.
Loader/Unloader of Groceries **Crucial**
7:15am-10am) Volunteers for this position will meet at the church (808 Jackman St, El Cajon) at 7:15am to carpool to the San Diego Food Bank (9850 Distribution Avenue, San Diego, CA  92121) to stack boxes of food/diapers on pallets so they can be loaded into the delivery truck.  Once all of the items are loaded, this team will return to Rock Church East County to help unload the truck into the distribution area. Volunteers need to be able to lift 40 lbs.
Setup
 (9:30am-11:00am) This team sets up cones, tables, signs, and  canopies at the distribution site at Rock Church East County.  In addition, this team will break down boxes and throw them away at Rock Church East County.
Traffic & Safety
 (10:00am-2:00pm) This team helps guide traffic, opens and closes vehicle/trunk doors and reminds people to please wear masks. The goal is to maintain safety and efficiency during the event at Rock Church East County.  Must be over 18.
Distribution and Re-stocking
(11:30am-2pm) Volunteers will distribute prepared bags of perishables and non-perishables to cars in the loading area.  In addition, volunteers will restock food or diapers at one of six stations (1.Canned/ 2.Non-perishables/ 3 & 4.Fresh Produce/ 5.Bread/ 6.Diapers, personal hygiene).
Bagger
(9:30-11:30am) Volunteers will bag food and non-perishables in preparation for distribution.
Guest Intake
(10:30am-2pm) Volunteers will receive guests/families by completing registration, gather appropriate information, and note diaper sizes (if needed).   Must be over 18.
Prayer Team
(11:30am-2:00pm) Volunteers will pray for the team members and participants throughout the event, including intercessory prayer.
Assist Walk-up Guests
(11:30am-2pm) Volunteers will assist walk-up guests by packing and distributing  groceries in a take-away bag and provide prayer.  Must be over 18.
